Ozzie Kotani
Kani Ki Ho'alu (38013)
Kani Ki Ho'alu, which translates as "The Sound of Slack Key", is a name given to Ozzie when he was studying the Hawaiian language at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. Here, on his first national release, he plays both original, six including the title track, and traditional mele (songs) on nylon and steel string guitars. Ozzie is currently recording a series of solo instrumental guitar albums for Dancing Cat Records' Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Masters Series, documenting his entire repertoire.
